We are NAMI, families in which one or more
of our members suffers a mental illness or know someone
who does.
We are in your community.

Maybe we can help you.  Help you cope with a burden
that no one else can entirely understand, and the isolation
and frustration that mental illness stigma creates.  Help
you buy advocating for better services for persons with
mental illness and better public awareness of the
biological basis for these diseases.  Help you by listening
with a personal understanding of how you are touched by
mental illness.  You are not alone.  We are recovering
from mental illnesses.  We are family members.  We are
your neighbors.  We are you local NAMI affiliate group.
We understand because we've been there.  We are there
every day just like you.

Our first objective is to support you and your family in
meeting your present critical need.  At your local NAMI
affiliate, individuals work directly with individuals.  We
support and encourage each other, we educate and inform
individuals on mental health.

Our continuing objectives are to eradicate mental illness
and improve the quality of life of those affected by these
diseases. To those ends we educate and advocate.  At your
local NAMI affiliate we advocate for both individuals and
improvements in the local, state and national service
systems.  We offer these services, without charge, to any
person whose life is touched by mental illness.

another, empathizing and sharing information. Support
meetings are held weekly, biweekly and monthly.
